LINCOLN, RI—Windmoeller & Hoelscher's newly patented Registered Scan Preset (RSP) system has received the 2005 Technical Award for Suppliers from the Packaging and Label Gravure Assn.

W&H's RSP system automatically laser scans each gravure cylinder at every print station to establish initial mechanical register. Web path length then is measured automatically, print nip to print nip, while taking all variables into consideration. The system then pre-registers each cylinder to enable an exact start-up register.
